The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed Ambassador Umar Damagum as the substantive National Chairman of the party.

Damagum, who previously held the position in an acting capacity, was formally affirmed during the ongoing party’s 102nd NEC meeting in Abuja.

Following the confirmation, Damagum expressed gratitude to the party leadership and members for their support and confidence.

He noted that the recognition reflected not only his personal efforts but also the collective work of the party’s leadership.

He acknowledged the challenges encountered during his tenure and commended the unity and resilience that have kept the party stable.

According to him, the NEC’s decision was the result of broad collaboration within the PDP.

He reiterated commitment to upholding the party’s principles and objectives while appreciating PDP members nationwide and abroad for their continued support.
